ALBERTA PART THREE

Mike drove off and told Alberta what had happened "I bet you thought you knew all about me. I told you that I was in the Army then after that I retired and took some money I had inherited and opened the dealership." "That's true" Mike said, as far as it goes. However when I was in the army I worked with an agency so secret it has no name."
Everything I tell you is above top secret by the way. Where I worked there was an idea to make these mechanical monsters. That's what I call them I was against the project, but was ordered to help. I thought what if the secret got out. It would be to easy to reprogram them and indeed that did happen. And Emmett was responsible. When it seemed like the computer might have been hacked Emmet was fired. He was supposed to be under close surveillance. However he quickly found out that his new 'girlfriend' was an robondroid."
"What happen then Alberta asked?"

"The information she was beaming to the agency stopped. The last thing they got was the code that said she . . . it had been found out. That was it. Until out of the blue I got a call from Emmet saying that he wanted to see me."
Mike went on explaining.
"I contacted the Agency. They wanted to out a team to grab Emmett when he showed up. I had to explain that I had no idea if he even would show up and where. They finally agreed to do it my way. And my way includes telling you everything. The only thing they demanded in return is that I get this from them."
Keeping one hand on the wheel Mike reached in his pocket with the other and threw a device to Alberta. "They correctly thought that Emmett might have an robondroid with him and gave me that. It is to de-program robondroids and and reprogram them to be a 'good' robondroids. "
"Emmett wanted to replace me with an robondroid." He continued. "That could infiltrate the agency, meanwhile he could kidnap me and interrogate me." Mike's stopped the van at the end of a dead end road. On the other side were the docks. He turned into a dockyard that was very dark and full of large boats.

"Okay we are at the boat now." Mike said, his boat was well screened by other watercraft. Turning to Alberta Mike said, "when you agreed to go with me you didn't know everything. Now that you know I certainly would blame you. If you I want to go. I will give you some money and that motorcycle" he pointed towards one parked near as camper truck near the docked boat. "You can take it and go wherever you want to."

"No thanks, this is just getting fun. What comes next?" Alberta replied

"You are a friend Alberta. I had the idea you would stay with me."
"Let me grab the robondroid that looks like me. I think you figured out that Emmett wanted it to replace me."
"My plan it to have the small robondroid - the one that looks like me- run the boat. We are screened right now but as soon as the boat goes out Emmett's gang will be watching for it." Mike pulled the robondroids out of the van. "Whoever Emmett works for now did a good job manufacturing their robondroids using the Agencies blueprints not to mention Emmett's 'girl' friend to back engineer them. This is lighter than the robondroids we were making."
"I noticed that even the big one isn't heavy. I hope they didn't change them to much though." Mike got tools from a bag that was in the boat and took the top of the large robondroid's head off. He then took out a circuit board and and replaced it with one from the bag. "Good it fits" Mike explained.
"Hang on a minute" Mike said, turning his back to Alberta. Mike turned to the smaller one and did the same. "Here is the plan" Mike said. "I'm going to take the big Roboandroid and Emmett and leave the van here and leave in that truck once the dock gets busy " Mike pointed at a truck with a camper shell on it.
"Both of the 'droids were made with direction finders. I took both of them out."
"Now you have told me before that you know how to use this type of boat. You and this monster - the one that looks like me - leave in the boat. The 'droid is set to run and be a "good' robondroid. It can run the boat."
"Nobody can see us here at the dock but if anyone is surveilling the boat he will see this one and think it's me."
"They will think I left in the boat. You leave in the boat with my doppelganger and as soon as you have gone out a few miles throw the trackers, with this, over the side." Mike showed where he had placed the trackers in one of the life rings. Whoever is looking for the Roboandroids will be confused."
Mike spent some more time with Alberta and the humanoid and explained how it worked and how to use it.
"Help me move Emmett and this large mechanical marvel to the truck."
"Now remember you can trust the android." Let it run the boat." Mike continued if anyone is watching it will think it's me. You can even sleep if you want to."
"By now whoever Emmett was working with should be watching for the boat. Both of the robondroid's trackers are sending a signal."
